Maximus Mykonos 5* Hotel

The construction of Maximus in Mykonos was a highly complex project, both in terms of the site conditions and its overall technical and operational demands. The steep terrain, adverse weather conditions and tight completion schedule shaped a particularly challenging construction undertaking.

In response to the high expectations of visitors to Mykonos and the specifications of a contemporary hospitality property, we approached the construction process with meticulous attention to detail, consistency and continuous on-site supervision. The complexity of the design and its technical requirements led to the implementation of as-built solutions, including on-site adjustments and close collaboration with the DEZONE Archi+ design team.

During construction, the following solutions were implemented:

– State-of-the-art insulation and external thermal insulation systems using advanced materials—including nanomaterials—with high energy performance and reduced environmental impact.

– A domestic hot water system combining solar panels, heat pumps and a triple booster pump system.

– An advanced biological wastewater treatment system allowing greywater to be reused for irrigation.

– Selective use of natural materials—stone, untreated timber and lime-based finishes—to ensure seamless integration with the Mykonian landscape.

– Bespoke solutions for each room, including custom joinery and built-in furniture.

– Strict quality control and meticulous attention to construction details throughout every phase of the project.

Maximus was completed on schedule, fully meeting the project’s technical requirements and the architectural direction of the design. For Kanavos Constructions, it represents a clear example of construction capability, technical expertise and effective management of a complex hospitality project.
